Grey’s Anatomy

Published by bcbgirl84 at 3:32 pm under Grey's Anatomy Edit This

The season finale of Grey’s Anatomy looks to be a juicy one. Of course, there are lots of rumors about what will happen. One says that McDreamy and Meredith won’t be getting married on their wedding day (but someone else will). Another suggests a plot twist will clear the way for George (T.R.Knight) to leave. (Since Frebruary, rumors have been swirling that both Izzie and George will be written off.)

My guess? Izzie has been planning the MerDer wedding. (You can check out “Izzie’s top secret wedding web site :http://weddings.theknot.com/pwp/pwp2/view/MemberPage.aspx?coupleId=5204748318589928.) In fact, she’s been planning an overdone, poufy-dress, ballroom dancing wedding that is in no way what MerDer would want. But, since Izzie has cancer and is likely dying, they’re humoring her. So I’m thinking that when the big day comes, MerDer will tell Izzie that she and Alex should get married, since she really planned the wedding of her dreams anyway. Besides, people on t.v. shows usually get married when they have a potentially fatal illness.

Let’s not forget that Meredith’s long-lost, negligent, drunk father is back in town, claiming to be clean and sober. I suspect he’s going to start whining that he wants to walk Meredith down the aisle after being absent for most of her life.

Then there’s George, who’s been unlucky in love since the beginning of the show. First, he fell in love with Meredith, who was already in love with McDreamy. When he finally got over his unrequited love for her, he hooked up with and eventually married Callie. Unfortunately, their marriage was short-lived due to his drunkenly cheating on her with Izzie. After he dumped Callie for Izzie, they discovered that their relationship only worked when they were sloshed. (Oops.) Meanwhile, Lexie had a crush on George, but he didn’t think of her as anything but a friend. (Yeah, he was about as blind to Lexie’s feelings for him as Meredith was to his in season one.) Lexie moved on and George has been unattached for most of the current season.

If George does leave, there are lots of possible exit strategies. I suspect he might just want a break from the place where his ex-wife and several ex-girlfriends work! However, one rumor claims that a new character shows up who may help facilitate George’s possible exit.

Then we have Owen and Christina. I’ve enjoyed this couple since they first got together this season. But they recently broke up after Owen tried to strangle Christina in her sleep (he was suffering from post-traumatic stress at the time and didn’t know what he was doing). Afterward, Owen entered therapy and it looks like they will be getting back together. However, one rumor says that as soon as they reunite, a new problem gets in the way of their happiness. (This is a soapy prime-time drama - no one can be happy for more than five minutes.) I suspect this problem involves the return of Owen’s ex-fiance (the one he cleverly dumped in a two-sentence email). Or, another problem related to his experiences in Iraq might come back to haunt him.
