American Idol 4-28

Published by bcbgirl84 at 2:51 am under American Idol Edit This

Anyone else wondering why Matt Giraud is still on Idol? Seriously? Simon was right when he said Matt would never win the show. Actually, Simon is right most of the time. Matt should have gone home last week instead of Anoop.

Tuesday’s show featured Rat Pack music, which I personally don’t care for. Kris sang first and sounded all right, aside from the fact that his song was really boring. Unfortunately, old music from the half a century tends to be that way. Especially the slow-tempo stuff. I was almost asleep by the second chorus. Surprisingly, Randy, Paula and Kara raved about the performance. Fortunately, Simon had the sense to be less enthusiastic.

Allison sang “Someone to Watch Over Me”, another moldy oldie, but at least she put a little bit of a rock edge to the song. I don’t know why she was in the bottom three last week. Allison consistently sings well every week.

Speaking of consistently singing well, Adam’s performance was fabulous. I love the fact that this guy can take an old song I never liked and make me enjoy it! Of course, I know some people who just don’t get it. One friend of mine was horrified by his rendition of Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire” several weeks back. She just didn’t get that Adam actually improved what was originally quite a dull song and made it entertaining.

Then there’s Danny. The guy is a talented singer, and tonight was no exception. I agree with Simon, who said it was his best performance over the last few weeks.

My prediction for who goes home tomorrow night: Matt. He’s already lasted well past his expiration date in this competition. I see Adam, Allison and Danny in the top three.
